Virginia Gomes –  CA, BBS, DipBS (Tax Consultancy)
Virginia is the Managing Director of VGA Chartered Accountants and holds a Business degree and Diploma in tax consultancy from Massey University in her home town of Palmerston North. Before founding VGA Chartered Accountants in 1998, she worked for large and small accountancy practices in Masterton and Auckland and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Jonno Kennerley – CA, B.Com
Jonno was born and bred in Auckland and completed his degrees (including a Bachelor of Music) at the University of Auckland. He joined VGA in February 2013, having completed a 3 year stint in London working in a project management role in the risk department of Credit Suisse; prior to this he spent over four years at KPMG Auckland, rising to a senior position in their business advisory department. Jonno has extensive experience in advisory and tax services over a wide range of entities both in terms of size and industry, and has a passion for assisting owners and directors succeed in their goals for their businesses.
Karen Rogers – B.Com
Karen joined the firm in June 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. Her diverse client base at VGA consists primarily of small to medium sized businesses, with whom she enjoys close working relationships. Karen is a provisional member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and is working towards her full qualification as a Chartered Accountant.
Martin Crocker – BBS, ACA
One of the company’s longest-standing staff members, Martin joined VGA Chartered Accountants in 2000 while completing his Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Accountancy, at Massey University. Martin handles a wide range of clients in an equally wide range of industries for VGA Chartered Accountants. Having previously worked in large-scale retail and in a small manufacturing import-export retailing business, he has an excellent understanding of day-to-day business operations. Martin is an associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Sandi Riches
Sandi is the friendly voice you’ll hear when you call our office. Taking care of day to day office management, Sandi brightens up everyone’s day with her positive vibe and dedication to serve.
Shammy Madhikarmy
Shammy joined VGA Chartered Accountants as an intern in August 2014 whilst completing her Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance from Auckland University of Technology. She is currently completing a graduate diploma and working towards becoming a member of the New Zealand institute of Chartered Accountants in 2015. Shammy’s passion is to work alongside small to medium sized businesses to help them grow and succeed. She loves to travel and experience new cultures and places and enjoys spending time outdoors camping and hiking.
Stoven
Stoven Kennerley – B.Com
Having joined VGA in December 2013 after 3 years at Markhams, Stoven has excellent experience in a wide range of advisory and tax services. He obtained his Commerce degree (along with a Music degree) at the University of Auckland. He is a provisional member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, with full membership to follow shortly given that he has passed the final admittance exam.
Sunil Dheda – B.Bus
Sunil joined VGA in 2012 as an intern from Auckland University of Technology as part of their cooperative education program. This was the last step in completing his Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting and finance. Due to the value and dedication brought to the team by his involvement, at the end of his internship he was offered a full time position; he has been since working towards becoming a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Outside of work, he is a very keen hockey player, playing weekly in a competitive grade.
Travers Rinkin
Travers was born and raised on the Tutukaka Coast and moved to Auckland as a youngster. Travers joined VGA in August 2014 on an internship as part of a cooperative education programme. This was one of the final steps in completing his Bachelor of Business at Auckland University of Technology, where he majored in Accounting and Marketing. Upon completing the internship, he was offered a full time position at the firm, as a reflection of his talent, hard work and dedication to the team. Outside of work, Travers is a keen and experienced fisherman, a gym junkie, and plays high level club rugby.
